
British scientists have found a remedy, yet unnamed, that destroys bone cancer cells using immune system.
"This is the beginning of an era in the treatment of bone cancer," said Professor Graham Jackson.
He noted that the use of this drug will help patients ease pain and they live much longer.
The doctor added that it also reduce the need for chemotherapy and improves quality of life.
An article about this scientific discovery is published in the journal New England Journal, Klan Kosova broadcasts.
"Multiple myeloma" is a cancer of plasma cells, in which the columns of abnormal plasma cells multiply, creating tumors in the bone marrow and then produce a large quantity of abnormal antibodies that accumulate in the blood or urine.
In the United States, multiple myeloma accounts for about one percent of all Kacer, and every year 12,500 new cases are diagnosed.
Plasma cell tumors (plasmacytomas) are most common in the spine, ribs and skull.
Sometimes they develop in other areas, particularly the lungs and reproductive organs.
